Sofia Tenreiro, who heads Siemens Portugal, sees herself as someone who can adapt to change. She's spent over 25 years in different fields like consumer goods, tech, and consulting. Instead of sticking to a strict plan, she's focused on making a difference and helping things change.
Tenreiro studied Business Administration and Management because she loves working with people. She started her career at Procter & Gamble and then led teams at places like Microsoft, Cisco Portugal, Deloitte, and Galp. Her main idea has always been to welcome tough situations, help teams and companies change, and be ready to jump on chances when they come up.
She became the boss of Siemens Portugal in May when the company turned 120 years old. Tenreiro says it's important to learn from different areas. Changing jobs teaches you more than staying in one thing, she says. She thinks it's important to be humble when you're in a new industry. She also believes that with AI becoming more important, asking good questions and leading with thought is way more helpful than knowing everything.
