Salesforce has now bought Informatica, a top company in AI cloud data management. This means Informatica’s stuff—like data sorting, combining, managing, keeping data safe, and handling main data—will become part of Salesforce. This will make a simple base for Agentforce AI helpers to work safely and well.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said that good, linked, and reliable data is key for AI to work right. He noted that without it, AI can make stuff up, stressing how Informatica helps turn messy data into useful info. Salesforce President Steve Fisher mentioned that together, they'll make smarter AI experiences for businesses.
This purchase helps Salesforce by: making Data 360 better for simple, useful data; adding Informatica to MuleSoft for full business linking; making Tableau data analysis richer with useful insights; and setting up a full data base for correct AI that can be explained.
Informatica will keep doing what it does best as a data management leader while adding its tech to Salesforce, backing AI progress and growth. Salesforce thinks this buy will grow profit margins and earnings per share within a year.
