Media Markt has changed its name to Darty in Portugal. Starting on October 1st, all Media Markt stores are now called Darty, which is part of Fnac's new line of home appliances and tech products. This change comes with a €30 million investment, creating 500 new jobs and planning to open 40 stores by 2030.
The brand is focusing on trust, good prices, excellent service, and durable products. Inês Condeço, the marketing director at Fnac Portugal, says, "Fnac dares, Darty cares," showing a commitment to better quality, longer-lasting items, and fast, dependable service from buying to fixing. Darty promises to offer competitive prices and will give customers a refund if they find cheaper options elsewhere.
The brand wants to be seen as friendly and reliable, especially for families. It aims to stand out in a busy market with big competitors like Worten and Rádio Popular. Darty is mixing physical stores with a strong online presence and is ready for the big sales events of Black Friday and Christmas.
