British fintech GoCardless has launched its first hub in Lisbon, aiming to hire its initial team of employees in the city. The company, which processes over $130 million in annual payments across 30 countries, leverages AI to detect and reduce fraud in its payment flows.
Recruitment is already underway, with some tech professionals already joining the Lisbon team. The hub will operate under a hybrid model, offering flexibility for office days while integrating the local team into GoCardless’s global operations. This expansion reflects the company’s strategy to grow its international footprint and tap into Portugal’s tech talent pool.
