Deloitte on 2026: Balancing Technology and Humanity in the Future of Work

Rita Correia, who leads People & Culture at Deloitte, says that even with all the changes from tech, people are still the most important part of work. As AI and automation change how we do things, keeping people at the heart of the plan is key to long-term success.

Deloitte sees three main areas to balance in 2026:

How we work: Making sure things get done well but also giving employees the flexibility they want.

- Finding talent: Getting good people, helping them do their best, and keeping them motivated. This means focusing on what people can do, their potential, and helping them grow in their own way, especially with AI becoming more common.

- Company structure and culture: Keeping the way a company is set up and how it works in a way that helps people do well, feel like they belong, and have a sense of purpose.

Correia points out that making money and valuing people don't have to be at odds. The secret is to build companies that can get results now but also get ready for what’s coming. New technologies can be tricky, not because of the tech itself, but because companies are still figuring out how to use it well with what people can do.

Deloitte's main goals for 2026:

- Get people who are good with tech but also have strong people skills.

- Help employees grow by offering custom training and chances to learn new things.

- Build a workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported.

Make sure employees can keep up with fast changes in tech, especially AI, which will play a bigger role in making decisions.

In short, Deloitte believes that no matter how much things change, people will always be key. The big thing for 2026 is to match tech with what people care about, so that new ideas help the business do well and employees feel happy.
