Bosch is growing its presence in Portugal with a new team in Braga focused on developing solutions for eBikes. This unit, located at Bosch’s largest factory in Portugal, currently has 20 employees and is expected to reach about 40 by the end of 2026 and over 50 by 2027.
The Braga team will work on research and development for eBike systems, including AI and machine learning-based anti-theft algorithms, embedded software, validation systems, cloud services, and specialized testing infrastructure (Device Farm).
These technologies aim to make eBiking safer, more connected, and more comfortable while keeping Bosch’s high standards of quality and reliability. Vaithee Soundarrajan, head of Embedded Software at Bosch, highlights that the new unit will support features that make the eBike experience more personal, safe, and sustainable.
The team will work closely with Bosch units in Germany, Sweden, and Ovar, which already design connected eBike devices such as displays and remote controls. Bosch is actively looking for talent for the Braga R&D team, including embedded software engineers, C++ programmers, data scientists, DevOps engineers, and Python-experienced testing specialists. This aligns with the company’s emphasis on sustainable mobility and technological innovation.
