Organon is upgrading its existing office in Lisbon into a Center of Excellence in Enterprise Technology, showing its commitment to innovation and supporting local tech talent. This move is part of a larger plan to grow the company in Portugal, with the new center expected to bring in 50 more employees, bringing the total workforce in the country to 200. Organon is also focusing on developing young professionals through university partnerships and internship programs.
Lisbon's position makes it a great place for reaching Europe, Africa, and South America.
The city has a skilled workforce that speaks English, and there are top universities and research centers nearby, providing a steady flow of students in fields like AI, cybersecurity, data science, and software engineering. The new center will work on improving internal processes and creating new job roles in areas such as AI, automation, data analysis, and ERP systems, helping the company with its global digital transformation.
Michael Rauenzahn, the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Organon, will lead the expansion and set the direction for growth.
The initiative has been praised by AICEP – Portugal Global, with its Chairwoman, Madalena Oliveira e Silva, saying it shows confidence in Portugal's talent and highlights the country as a top choice for global tech companies. This move helps solidify Lisbon as a key technology center for Organon, along with its current business services, solutions, and local operations.
