Job satisfaction is at a historic low — AI and feedback can help

A recent study by HP showed that less than 40% of workers feel like they are valued for what they do. Only 20% said they have a good work-life balance. Younger workers want feedback faster, so HP Portugal switched from yearly to quarterly reviews. They also tell managers to give feedback all the time.

Pedro Coelho, who is in charge at HP Portugal, said that companies expect more from workers but don't always give them what they need to do the work.

- AI can assist by doing some of the boring tasks. This lets workers focus on the important stuff, which can make them happier and more involved.

- Nonverbal stuff is also important. Irina Golovanova, who knows a lot about nonverbal communication, says that it affects leadership and how happy people are at work, even if they are working remotely.

-L eaders should look at how they carry themselves, how they sound, and how they act to see if they can get their team to see them in a better light and do a better job.

The podcast Thirty-eight point four talks about these things. It looks at how work, leadership, and tech come together to make workers happier and better at their jobs.
