Havi Lisbon Grows From Seven to 143 Tech Professionals in Two and a Half Years

Seven people to 143. That’s how far Havi’s technology center in Lisbon has come since its inauguration in March 2024. Havi Lisbon is now expanding its office and expects to hire around 20 more people, as administrator Reto Sahli told Lusa.

Why Lisbon was the pick

Sahli, Havi’s Chief Digital Information Officer, says the plan was always bigger than a new office: build a technological capacity with global impact, from Portugal. Lisbon won thanks to the quality and diversity of local talent, a strong tech ecosystem and the country’s knack for connecting people, cultures and time zones. In his words, those advantages proved even stronger than expected.

The growth has been steady. TechHub ended 2024 with 34 employees, reached 87 by the official opening in September 2025, and now stands at 143. It’s one of the fastest-growing operations in Havi’s global technology structure.

What the teams do

The Lisbon teams contribute to global capabilities in AI, data and analytics, digital products, cloud, cybersecurity and business transformation. The work supports Havi’s operations and clients in more than 30 markets, from warehouse automation to predictive planning and data-driven decisions. If you’re curious about software development jobs tied to supply chains, this is a useful example of where that work happens.

Part of a global network

Havi Portugal belongs to a group of four TechHubs: Chicago, Krakow, Lisbon and Kuala Lumpur. They don’t work as isolated centers, but as an interconnected network. The “follow the sun” model lets teams collaborate across borders and time zones, which adds responsiveness and resilience.

Hiring for 2027

The Lisbon hub has added an extra floor and keeps recruiting. Around 20 positions are open or planned for 2027, in software engineering, data and analytics, automation, AI, cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure, digital products and business transformation. Sahli says the company looks for people who like challenges with global impact, work with teams from different countries and disciplines, and understand how their technical knowledge links to results.

The plan for 2027 is to keep investing in people and give the Lisbon teams more responsibility for global technology capabilities. As he puts it, technology is essential, but people make the transformation happen. For anyone comparing how technology companies build a tech hub in Lisbon, Havi’s path is a clear case study.
