Farfetch Announces New Mandatory In-Office Work Policy Amid Office Space Challenges

It appears that Farfetch is implementing a new policy requiring employees to work at least three days per week in person at the office starting Monday, March 17th. This move, shared via an internal email on the 13th, comes amid some logistical challenges, especially at the Lionesa office in the Porto area.

The office was downsized by about one-third of its capacity last year, leaving only around 600 available workstations for the 1,200 employees associated with the office. This creates a significant issue since even without considering employees working full-time from home, there won’t be enough available desk slots to accommodate everyone working in the office for the required three days per week.

This policy might lead to potential issues around office space and how the company will manage the demand for in-person work days among its workforce. The situation could potentially require further adjustments to office arrangements or flexible work strategies.
