Cisco Gives AI Agents to 90,000 Employees

Cisco is rolling out personal AI agents to its 90,000 employees. The company aims to lower costs, protect internal data, and speed up daily operations.

On-Premises Strategy and Cost Control

Cisco built its own internal AI stack instead of relying on third-party cloud infrastructure. Running systems on-premises helps the company secure private records and control compute expenses.

A dynamic routing engine handles incoming queries. Simple tasks go to small, lightweight models, while complex multi-step jobs go to advanced models. This system keeps token spending low across all departments.

Operations in the Finance Department

Cisco's finance team already uses these AI tools in its daily operations. AI generates 80% to 90% of the initial drafts for SEC filings, saving significant time during reporting cycles.

Internal software also compares historical performance data with competitor earnings calls to predict analyst questions. Meanwhile, an executive dashboard known as the CFO cockpit brings together product, region, and customer data to deliver fast financial insights.

Process Redesign and Workforce Training

Cisco is pairing the rollout with internal training programs and team challenges. Company leaders emphasize that scaling AI requires redesigning workflows rather than placing new software on top of old habits.
