ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support a consulting sector organization in the design, optimization and operation of scalable data solutions. This is a Portugal-based remote opportunity focused on modern data engineering, analytics enablement and reliable delivery across cloud data platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design, build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark and dbt.
- Develop and maintain data warehousing solutions using SQL and Azure Synapse.
- Implement CI/CD practices through Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and support issue resolution.
- Create Power BI dashboards and analytical outputs that support actionable business insights.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Analysts and business stakeholders to refine requirements and improve data utilization.
- Promote data integrity, security, performance and maintainability across data pipelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or similar technical roles.
- Proven experience designing and managing robust data solutions in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with autonomy in complex delivery contexts and support technical decision-making.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Portuguese.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY
Base salary range: EUR 20 000 - EUR 40 000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 55 000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
