As a

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code following software engineering best practices.
  • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver value to users.
  • Conduct code reviews and support the continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues by proposing effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Work in an agile team, collaborating closely across locations.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; experience with GraphQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar).
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a good working level of English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including stakeholders in the Netherlands and Portugal.
  • Willingness to learn continuously and share knowledge with others.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Frontend development knowledge (e.g., React/TypeScript) — valued for cross-team collaboration.
