Winners of the 10th Portugal Digital Awards Announced

The winners of the 10th Axians Portugal Digital Awards® were revealed at Estoril Casino, selected from over 300 applications across Digital Transformation, Digital Industry, and Digital Grand Award categories. Organized by Axians and GoingNext, with Expresso as media partner, this edition highlighted both national innovation and the growing maturity of Portugal’s digital ecosystem.

A special distinction went to Paulo Fernandes, former Mayor of Fundão, named Best Digital Leader, and to MC Sonae’s Smart Retail project, awarded Grand Digital Transformation Project. Axians Portugal managing director Carmo Palma emphasized that the awards reflect a decade of evolution—from early digital initiatives to large-scale, high-impact transformation.

Fernandes noted that Fundão’s journey proves innovation can thrive in rural regions, while MC Sonae highlighted the effort of the 100+ professionals behind its Smart Retail project.

This year’s winners spanned sectors from banking and healthcare to energy, tourism, manufacturing, and central and local government. Notable projects include Galp’s predictive analytics suite, CUF’s AI imaging initiative, the gov.pt digital wallet, EDP’s autonomous solar O&M platform, Out of Limits’ NEUROSTAND for airport operations, and Fundão’s integrated innovation ecosystem.

The 2025 edition reinforces Portugal’s position as a growing hub for digital transformation—supported by strong public-private collaboration, emerging technologies, and a rapidly expanding community of innovators.
