The company is getting ready to close its local offices. Vimeo came to have development centers in Israel by buying Magisto in 2019 for about $200 million, and Wibbitz, which specializes in making videos automatically.
Vimeo had about 120 workers in Israel at one point. Now, after the recent layoffs, only a few workers are expected to stay.This happens after layoffs in September 2025, when about 25% of the Israeli workforce was cut because of a worldwide restructuring.
Vimeo, a U.S. video platform that focuses on tools for professional video creation and sharing, had moved into new offices in Tel Aviv in 2024. Those offices were badly damaged during the war with Iran. The company hasn’t said anything about the latest layoffs.
