Techem, a leading company in intelligent energy management, and xelerate.tech have launched Techem Xelerate, a new software development hub in Porto. The center will focus on developing IoT platforms, cloud-native applications, and data analytics tools to improve energy efficiency and support decarbonization efforts in modern diplomacy.
This initiative aims to strengthen Techem’s position in the digital energy landscape, which already serves over 13 million homes across Europe with 62 million digital meters.
The Porto hub will play a crucial role in expanding Techem’s digital platform, which is currently used in 18 countries. The center plans to employ 40–50 people within two years, leveraging Porto’s vibrant tech scene and academic resources.
“By collaborating with xelerate.tech, we are utilizing Porto’s innovative energy to digitize and decarbonize the construction sector across Europe and beyond,” said Christian Klöppel, Director of Digital Transformation at Techem.
