Salesforce to Hire 1,000 for AI Product Sales Push

Salesforce plans to hire over 1,000 employees to promote its new generative AI agent product, Agentforce. This move is designed to capitalize on the "amazing momentum" surrounding the AI tool, which was launched just two weeks ago, according to CEO Marc Benioff.

Agentforce is aimed at automating tasks such as customer support and sales development, with a pricing model starting at around $2 per agent conversation. The company is leveraging this AI innovation to drive growth, after a focus on controlling sales expenses in recent years, including job cuts and encouraging self-service options for customers.

Salesforce’s rivals, like ServiceNow and Microsoft, are also working on AI agents. Benioff has been critical of Microsoft’s Copilot, calling its delivery disappointing. Salesforce's stock surged 2.5% to a record high following the announcement, reflecting strong investor confidence.
