Porto is set to welcome Techem Xelerate, a new technology center dedicated to developing smart energy management solutions for buildings. A joint venture between Techem and xelerate.tech, the hub plans to hire around 50 specialists.
The center will focus on IoT platforms, cloud-native apps, data analytics, and software that boost energy efficiency and cut carbon emissions. Techem, with 62 million digital meters installed in 13 million homes, sees Porto as the perfect location thanks to its strong tech talent and universities.
The hub will serve as the company’s Digital Platform base, supporting sustainable construction operations across Europe and accelerating Techem’s digital future.
