Pixelmatters Launches Soft Landing Service to Attract US Tech Hubs to Portugal

Pixelmatters has introduced a soft landing service to help international technology companies establish operations in Portugal, with a focus on the United States. The initiative, called Tech Hubs in Portugal, has already supported Ujet.cx in setting up locally and aims to offer low-risk entry into the Portuguese market using a Build+Operate+Transfer (BOT) model. Clients can test operations without increasing headcount, with the option to gradually transfer staff to their entity.

Founder André Oliveira emphasizes the company’s 12-year track record in digital product development, high-quality standards, and strong ties to the Portuguese tech community. The service prioritizes product impact over bureaucracy and is designed for sustainable, efficient growth.

Looking ahead, Pixelmatters plans to onboard two to three new clients in 2026, representing 30–50% of annual revenue, with continuous recruitment for design and engineering roles as needed. Meanwhile, Pixelmatters Ventures, the company’s investment vehicle, remains on hold after fundraising challenges, though it has already invested €500,000 in services to develop Dr. Online’s digital infrastructure.

In January 2026, the company will see new leadership: André Oliveira becomes chairman, and Bruno Teixeira, a long-time software engineer, takes over as CEO, signaling a commitment to internal growth and leadership succession.
