MEO boosts revenue amid organizational transformation

MEO saw a rise in its revenue by 4.6% during a quarter that was focused on a big change in how the company is organized, reaching a total of €695 million. If we don’t include the results from Altice Labs, the growth would have been even higher at 4.9%. This growth was mainly because of the Consumer segment, which grew by 4.8%, and the Business Services segment, which increased by 4.5%. The Consumer segment’s growth was especially driven by MEO Energia.

The CEO, Ana Figueiredo, talked about the company’s goal to become a top tech company by using tools like AI, cloud services, cybersecurity, and green energy.

MEO Energia now has 188,000 customers who use green electricity, which is an increase of 111,000 from the previous year. The Business Services area, which includes things like managed IT, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity, also helped the company make more money.

During this quarter, the company spent €97 million to improve its network.

This work has helped reach 6.95% 5G coverage and almost full 4G coverage. Fiber internet is now available to 6.6 million homes. By June, MEO had 13.3 million RGUs and 1.7 million unique customers in the consumer market. Postpaid mobile services grew by 3.3% year-on-year, showing that more people are using combined services like TV, internet, and mobile together.
