After 25 years with the company, José Afonso Pires takes the helm of Link, succeeding founder José Alves Marques, who remains on the board. Pires will also serve as Country Manager for the global Linkroad Group, overseeing operations in Portugal, the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Europe.
During his tenure, Pires led international expansion, notably in the Middle East, and coordinated multiple business areas including retail, transport, logistics, energy, and public sector. He stated his focus will be on accelerating growth, democratizing AI, and investing in talent.
Linkroad currently employs around 1,000 people across five countries, generating over €60 million in revenue, with projections to exceed €120 million in 2027. The company aims to consolidate Iberian leadership, expand in Europe, and strengthen its Middle East presence.
