Intel Israel has filed a lawsuit exposing a sophisticated NIS 3M (~$840K) embezzlement scheme involving ex-employee Natalia Avtsin and former supplier Yafim Tsibolevsky.
🔍 How it worked:
- Avtsin requested hardware quotes from Tsibolevsky (Energy Electronics 2000), submitted them for approval, then reclassified purchases as “services” — bypassing key checks.
- Service purchases didn’t require delivery verification, allowing fake invoices to be paid.
- Most invoices were just below her $20K approval threshold, suggesting intentional manipulation.
Even after her dismissal (for unrelated reasons), Intel later uncovered:
- 30+ bogus orders channeled through procurement intermediary Levanon Kogan (not accused of wrongdoing).
- Over NIS 2M routed this way using the same “services” loophole.
Intel is seeking full restitution and forfeiture of any illicit gains. No response yet from the accused.
