InPost Takes Stake in Portuguese Smart Locker Startup Bloq.it

InPost, a Polish postal company, has taken a small share in Bloq.it, a smart locker startup based in Lisbon and led by CEO Miha Jagodic. The deal includes a long-term plan to put up more than 20,000 lockers across Europe by 2030, with the first installations happening in Portugal, Italy, and Spain this year.

The agreement goes beyond just money—it also involves help with business and operations, like designing and supporting InPost’s Automated Parcel Machine (APM) system.

Bloq.it’s “Next” lockers, which are fully automatic and can work without being connected to the power grid, are already in use in France and the UK, and will be rolled out in other important European areas.

Miha Jagodic says the deal helps Bloq.it grow its business and speed up its plans to offer services outside people’s homes.

InPost’s CEO, Rafał Brzoska, says the move is a smart strategy to help the company grow in Europe and make more money over time. Bloq.it was started in 2006 in Poland and is based in Luxembourg. It went public in the Netherlands in 2021, raising €2.8 billion during the rise of online shopping.
