This Portuguese company, which specializes in digital compliance software, plans to raise €10 million in Series A funding. It wants to move beyond healthcare and get into defense and aviation, as well as grow its business in China.
Complear was founded in 2021 and has been profitable from the start. It made a name for itself helping medical device companies deal with tough regulations. Now, it wants to use its AI compliance tech for drones, remote-controlled ships, and important defense systems.
The startup, located in Guimarães, has already created a defense team and is starting a test project with the Portuguese Army. It's also working on getting security certifications, including NATO approvals.
Complear is also close to finalizing partnerships with science parks in China’s Greater Bay Area so that it can use the region to get into global markets. The company has 27 employees in Europe and the US, and its revenue is increasing quickly in 2024. It says that outside funding is now needed to achieve its goals.
