Fortinet, the American cybersecurity heavyweight, has acquired Israeli startup Suridata, a specialist in SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM), in a deal reportedly valued in the tens of millions of dollars.
Founded in 2019 by Lee Kappon Yagoda and Haviv Ohayon, Suridata has raised approximately $14 million to date and built a platform that uses AI, machine learning, and natural language processing to protect SaaS applications. Its solution helps organizations monitor risk, detect misconfigurations, analyze user behavior, and ensure secure SaaS adoption across departments.
Fortinet will integrate Suridata’s technology into its Unified SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) platform, enhancing its Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and broader SaaS visibility and control capabilities.
In a statement, Fortinet emphasized the growing necessity of SSPM:
“Modern security architecture demands interconnected protection across users, apps, and identities. SSPM is not an add-on — it’s a necessary control plane.”
This acquisition aligns with Fortinet’s broader expansion strategy in Israel, following previous deals such as Perception Point (2023) and EnSilo (2019). It reflects the increasing importance of automated and intelligent SaaS security as enterprises transition to cloud-first environments.
