DST Group has opened Portugal's first Industrial and Digital Thinking Campus, a new project that brings together vocational education, higher education, and the business world in one place focused on innovation.
The event was attended by important people like the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, DST Group's president, José Teixeira, IPCA's president, Maria José Fernandes, EPATV's general director, João Luís de Matos Nogueira, and the president of the Vila Verde City Council, Júlia Fernandes.
The campus is in Vila Verde, near Braga.
It was developed based on the old industrial and commercial schools from the 1980s but has been modernized to match today's job market needs. The campus has already been approved by the Directorate-General for Education and Science (DGEstE). It provides specialized courses in vocational and technical fields for students in 9th and 12th grades, focusing on areas like energy, electricity, air conditioning, and maintenance.
This project is created with support from IPCA and EPATV.
It aims to connect school learning, work experience, and industry to improve job opportunities and encourage new ideas.
