Deloitte is changing job titles for over 180,000 US workers starting in June. This is a major internal change for one of the Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY).
Instead of general titles like consultant, the firm wants titles to show exact skills and expertise. The idea is to make business cards tell what people really do.
What's causing this?
This change is part of a move to update Deloitte's structure because of:
- Fast digital changes.
- Rise of Artificial Intelligence.
- Increased need for tech skills.
The firm will also add new leadership positions for new skill areas and goals.
Expresso learned from a source inside Deloitte Portugal that Europe is not expected to make these changes right now.
But when a Big Four firm makes a change this big in the US, it often spreads. So, while titles are changing in America now, other markets may soon follow.
