American cybersecurity expert Ben Shariati will visit Portugal next week to raise awareness about data protection as part of the C-HUB project - Cybersecurity Digital Innovation Hub. Shariati, director of the cybersecurity postgraduate program at the University of Maryland, will join experts from CNCS, INESC INOV, University of Porto, and PwC for four free sessions aimed at informing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public entities on the importance of cybersecurity.
The sessions, scheduled from Monday to Thursday, will take place in Lisbon and Porto. The initiative is designed to enhance digital transformation and cyber resilience for SMEs and public administration through discussions on digital maturity, risks, and available cybersecurity solutions.
As cyberattacks in Portugal increase, the C3P emphasizes the importance of safeguarding data, especially for SMEs with outdated systems. C-HUB's goal is to promote digital acceleration and cyber resilience, fostering synergies and supporting the transition to secure digital environments.
