Bose is throwing a lifeline to its old SoundTouch speaker owners!

Remember how those speakers were supposed to stop working on February 18, 2026?

Well, Bose pushed the date back to May 6th. Even better, they're releasing the API info as open source!

So, even when the cloud support goes away, your speakers won't be totally useless. You'll still be able to use Bluetooth, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, AUX, and stuff like that. Plus, you can still group speakers and set them up.

By making the API open source, Bose is letting people create their own software. So instead of your speaker becoming a brick, it can keep playing music. It's cool to see a company not kill off older products when the cloud support ends.
