“Air conditioners are very inefficient devices; they confuse people more than they help,” says Márcia Pereira, founder of Bandora. Her startup’s AI-powered software manages building temperatures better than humans, already cutting energy costs for clients by up to 70%.
At the League of Innovators, Pereira explained how her technology addresses one of the biggest complaints in buildings: climate control. Over 90% of issues reported by occupants relate to air conditioning—too hot or too cold, lowering productivity at work and discouraging customers in shops. Bandora’s system dynamically adjusts conditions, improving comfort and efficiency.
Founded in 2017, Bandora has already convinced global clients like McDonald’s and Burger King. In the short term, the startup plans to expand its reach; in the medium term, Pereira envisions following the familiar tech path toward an exit strategy.
