Airbus is thinking about growing its business in Portugal, but it depends on the government deciding to replace its old F-16 fighter jets. Right now, Airbus makes parts for regular airplanes at its Santo Tirso plant and works with tech partners in a shared services center.
To help with its possible expansion, Airbus has made a deal with AED Cluster to find local companies that can help build the Eurofighter.
If those companies are chosen, Airbus will invest more in Portugal and expand its activities, which will make the country more important in the aerospace industry.
