Veeam Acquires Securiti AI in $1.73 Billion Deal to Strengthen AI Data Protection

Veeam Software has announced its plan to acquire Securiti AI, a leading data privacy management firm, for $1.73 billion, marking a major step toward integrating advanced AI-driven data protection into its cloud infrastructure portfolio. The acquisition aims to meet growing demand from companies seeking to safeguard and manage cloud data used in artificial intelligence applications.

As part of the deal, Securiti AI’s flagship Data Command Center, which unifies and secures data across multiple cloud environments, will be merged with Veeam’s backup and recovery solutions. The move will enhance Veeam’s competitiveness against rivals like Rubrik and Commvault Systems, amid a surge in global cybersecurity incidents.

Following the transaction, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, Rehan Jalil, CEO of Securiti AI, will become Veeam’s President of Security and AI. Morgan Stanley advised Securiti AI, while JPMorgan provided financing for Veeam. The company plans to continue offering Securiti’s existing product while developing integrated features.

Backed by Insight Partners, Veeam has seen rapid valuation growth since its $5 billion acquisition in 2020, with Insight recently selling a $2 billion stake at a $15 billion valuation. The merger underscores Veeam’s mission to expand its leadership in data resilience, particularly through immutable backups that protect against ransomware and ensure rapid recovery.
