Swiss Post will significantly expand its Lisbon technology operations, adding 200 IT positions by 2030. The Portuguese hub, which currently employs around 60 specialists, will grow to about 260 staff as the company broadens its international recruitment strategy.
The decision mirrors the gradual phase-out of an equivalent number of IT jobs in Switzerland, where filling vacancies has become increasingly difficult. Swiss Post stressed that job losses will be offset naturally through retirements and staff turnover, avoiding redundancies.
First unveiled in 2022, the Lisbon center was designed to address a persistent talent shortage in Switzerland’s IT market. By tapping into Lisbon’s larger international workforce, Swiss Post aims to ensure faster hiring and stronger technical expertise, reinforcing its long-term digital ambitions.
