Portuguese group Simoldes is developing cutting-edge solutions for the automotive industry, including sodium-ion batteries that are safer than lithium ones, buttonless car consoles, and 73 alternative materials to petroleum-based plastics.
Speaking at the Innovators’ League, innovation director Júlio Grilo outlined their ambition to lead in mold technology and sustainability.
Simoldes, which operates in 16 countries, partners with major automakers like Volkswagen and Toyota. The company envisions factory workers collaborating with humanoid robots by 2030 and aims to grow by entering new markets and moving up the value chain.
