The search for the most innovative social and environmental startups has begun. eAwards Portugal 2026 registration is now open until June 30th for tech projects that aim to solve real-world problems. This year carries special significance for local entrepreneurs, as the international final will be held right here in the Portuguese capital.
The NTT DATA Foundation eAwards Lisbon program has supported over 10,000 projects in its 25-year history. This year, Lisbon was chosen as the host city following the 2025 victory of the Portuguese startup Usawa Care. Their success with AI-driven medical consultations solidified the country's reputation as a global hub for technological talent.
Prizes and Opportunities
The national winner will be announced in September and will receive a prize of €10,000. More importantly, they will earn the right to represent the country in the Global eAwards final Lisbon 2026. At this international event in November, the ultimate winner will walk away with a life-changing prize of €100,000.
The initiative, held in partnership with Unicorn Factory Lisboa, looks for scalable and sustainable projects in fields like Health, Energy, Education, and Environment. Such prestigious IT events are essential for startups looking to gain international visibility and networking opportunities.
Join the Global Stage
To take part, projects should be in advanced stages of development and offer a clear positive impact on society. Over the decades, three Portuguese startups have already secured top spots in the international categories, proving the strength of the local ecosystem.
Many successful digital companies began their journey by participating in these types of high-level competitions. Entrepreneurs can submit their applications until June 30th through the official global eAwards website.
