LPM Comunicação wins its largest-ever public contract with Turismo de Portugal

LPM Comunicação has secured its largest public-sector contract to date after being awarded a new multi-year mandate by Turismo de Portugal. The contract, worth €270,109 (including VAT) and running for 36 months, was awarded on December 18 and published this week on the Base Portal.

The agreement was signed by the President of Turismo de Portugal and João Paixão Martins, CEO of LPM Comunicação, the communications consultancy founded by Luís Paixão Martins. It represents the eighth contract awarded to LPM by Turismo de Portugal and the largest single contract the agency has ever received from a public entity.

The contract was awarded through a limited tender with pre-qualification, in which only two companies participated: LPM Comunicação and Jervis Pereira Representações e Consultoria.

Under the terms of the tender, LPM will be responsible for maximizing Turismo de Portugal’s media exposure and supporting the organization of press trips for national and international media covering events promoted or supported by Turismo de Portugal. The contract also requires a dedicated team of at least four consultants, including one professional working on-site between 20 and 30 hours per week.

Since 2010, Turismo de Portugal has awarded LPM a total of €1.3 million (including VAT) across multiple contracts, awarded through a combination of limited tenders and direct awards.

With this latest agreement, LPM Comunicação further consolidates its position as the leading communications consultancy in the public sector, having secured 149 public contracts worth approximately €7 million (€8.6 million including VAT) to date.
