We had a strong Q1, but this is just the beginning. Intel needs to move faster, simplify, and return to its engineering roots. We’re flattening our structure, cutting unnecessary costs, and reducing layers of management to empower top talent and boost innovation. Unfortunately, this means workforce reductions starting in Q2.
We're also streamlining how we work — fewer meetings, less admin, optional OKRs — so we can focus on what truly matters: building great products and delighting customers.
And starting Sept. 1, hybrid employees will be expected onsite 4 days a week. It’s time to rebuild our culture face-to-face.
This won’t be easy. But I joined Intel because I believe we can pull off one of the greatest turnarounds in tech history — and I’m all in.
Let’s go. — Lip-Bu Tan
