After starting a tech hub in Leiria last year, the Lisbon IT and cybersecurity people just opened a new spot in Porto. They think they'll pull in about a million euros in the first year in the north.
Ricardo Teixeira, the CEO, said moving to the North makes sense after Lisbon and Leiria. He thinks it's a key area, and being close to clients is how they do things. The Porto office is in Tower Plaza, Vila Nova de Gaia, so they can easily serve the North and Central areas.
Carlos Camelo, who has been in IT for like, ever, is now in charge up North. He says a lot of companies there don't have their own IT folks, so they need someone they can count on. The Porto team starts with ten tech people, but they plan to add more in 2026. Compuworks also said they expect to grow by 25% this year, which would be the fourth year in a row they've done really well.
