Companies Adopt Work-From-Home Policies Due to Strike-Related Transport Problems

Because of the general strike on Thursday, public transport was a mess. The strike was about some suggested changes to labor laws. So, lots of companies in different fields like banking, energy, and HR let workers work from home so they could still get things done.

Companies like Intelcia, ManpowerGroup, Gi Group, Teleperformance, CGD, Ageas, Galp, and EDP either started or increased their work-from-home options for jobs that could be done remotely. Some companies also helped out with travel costs, shuttle services, or carpooling. The companies said they wanted to keep workers happy and business running smoothly. Unions cautioned that letting everyone work from home shouldn't be a way to stop people from joining the strike.
