Bank of Portugal Invests in Luxury Acoustic Cabins for Privacy and Comfort

The Bank of Portugal allocated a budget of 484,620 euros for the purchase of luxury acoustic cabins designed to ensure security and comfort in its modern office environment. These high-end "phone booths" will provide workers with soundproof and seismic-proof spaces, perfect for phone calls, video conferences, or individual work in silence.

As part of its office migration plans, the Bank of Portugal will transfer around 1,000 employees to the Marconi Building in Lisbon, where an open space environment will be implemented. The acoustic cabins aim to meet the need for privacy and concentration in this shared space, with the possibility of ensuring between 20 to 35 cabins depending on demand during the contract period. The cabins will also serve as a key solution for current and future office formats.

The luxury highlights of the cabins include Italian wool upholstery, LED lighting, and adjustable depth tables, designed to enhance user comfort. Additionally, the cabins will be seismically secure, with mobile wheels for easy repositioning and ventilation and lighting systems activated by motion sensors.

While focused on functionality, the design will also incorporate aesthetic elements, including rounded corners, modern finishes, and high-quality materials, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with the interior design of the new headquarters of the Bank.

The public tender for these cabins will close on March 10, and the contract may last up to two years. This investment comes as part of the broader goal of the Bank to create a modern and productive work environment as it prepares for its upcoming relocation and possible future developments.
