SQL Bridge Engineer

Job Description

You will be the first technical hire at OralPro, tasked with building OralPro's SQL Bridge — a proprietary data integration layer that connects legacy dental software to our cloud analytics platform.

Think: "Plaid for dental data" or "Segment for health."

First 6 months:

- Month 1-2: Reverse engineering 3 schemes of Italian dental PMS databases (XDent, OrisDent, DentalOpera)

- Month 3-4: Create agent for Windows + real-time data pipeline (read-only, GDPR compliant)

- Month 5-6: Launch REST API + implement in 20 pilot clinics

- Month 12: 100+ clinics, 1M+ data points/day, you have hired 1-2 engineers under your supervision

You will report directly to the founder with weekly 1:1 meetings. Your decisions shape the architecture and technology stack. What you build becomes the barrier that makes OralPro worth over €100M.

Key Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in backend engineering

- Deep knowledge of SQL (not just ORMs — you love pure SQL)

- Experience with database integrations, ETL or data pipelines

- Proven experience working with legacy systems or reverse engineering undocumented databases

- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Django) or Node.js

- Experience in cloud implementation (AWS/GCP)

- Experience with Windows server environments (dental software runs on Windows)

- Security-conscious mindset (GDPR is non-negotiable for health data)

Preferred Knowledge

- Experience in healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries

- Creation of installable agents or desktop applications

- Experience in DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)

- Experience as a founding engineer or in early-stage startups

- Salary: €80,000 - €95,000

- Equity: 0.5% - 1.5% (4 years vesting) — OralPro currently valued at ~€20M, aiming to reach €100M by 2029. Your equity could be worth between €500k and €1.5M
