In order to continue to ensure and evolve the services we provide to our customers, we are recruiting a Fixed Access Network Engineer to join the Fixed Access Network team at NOS Engineering.

What we expect from you

• Actively contribute to the development, validation, engineering, and automation activities of fixed access technologies — FTTH/GPON, XGS-PON, and HFC/DOCSIS — with a strong focus on data-driven optimization and process automation.
• Fixed access engineering with a focus on customer experience (configuration management and OLT, ONT, CMTS, and CCAP node parameterization; PON capacity planning and traffic engineering; PON network design and options; analysis and optimization of HFC network performance, software evolution and validation).
• Definition and analysis of performance indicators (KPI) in FTTH and HFC networks (design of fixed access KPIs (service availability, optical budget, FEC/BER, MER, partial-service, SLA metrics, among others); performance monitoring and analysis, identifying problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Design and operation of automation pipelines for service provisioning, configuration auditing, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and closed-loop optimization mechanisms (self-healing and self-optimization). Experience in development and languages/frameworks such as Python, NETCONF/YANG, REST APIs.
• Strong analytics and big data component applied to the network in the creation and utilization of data platforms (Kafka, Elastic, Grafana, Power BI); working with time series databases (InfluxDB, Prometheus, etc.); development of data-driven use cases for access network optimization.

What we are looking for

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or similar.
• Minimum experience: 2 years in the industry in fixed access networks (FTTH/GPON, XGS-PON, HFC/DOCSIS) with tasks including validation and testing of fixed network software, KPI definition and performance analysis, and demonstrable work in domain analytics, scripting, and network automation.
• Solid knowledge of fixed access technologies and architecture: GPON, XGS-PON, HFC, DOCSIS 3.0/3.1.
• Practical experience with fixed access equipment; FTTH: Huawei, Nokia, and other relevant suppliers' OLT/ONT; HFC: CISCO, ARRIS CMTS/CCAP.
• In-depth understanding of the fixed access network lifecycle: provisioning, configuration management, optimization processes.
• Strong knowledge of fixed access KPIs: service availability, optical link budget, FEC/BER, MER, etc.
• Automation and scripting: Python (advanced level desired), NETCONF/YANG, REST APIs.
• Data analytics / big data: Kafka, Elastic, Grafana, Power BI, Time series databases: InfluxDB, Prometheus; Programming & databases: Python, MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• AI concepts applied to the network: familiarity with anomaly detection use cases using ML, self-healing / closed-loop automation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
