Full-time
Senior Engineer of Critical Infrastructures (Energy, HVAC and Security)
At NOS, we believe that technology has the power to transform lives. That's why we offer cutting-edge solutions in television, internet, voice, and data for all market segments — and we also lead in film distribution and exhibition, being the exhibitor with the most complexes and rooms in Portugal. We are a company that is not satisfied with the present: we question, evolve and always seek to do more and better.
And we do all this with an awareness of the role we play — for our customers, for the country, and for the planet. Because we believe that true success is measured not only by the results we achieve, but by how we achieve them and the positive impact we leave behind.
We operate highly critical infrastructures – data centers, core data, core voice, core IP, aggregation network, mobile network controllers, fixed access nodes (FTTH/HFC) and mobile access – where availability is essential. We believe in the power of technology to respond to environmental and social challenges and we want to leave a positive mark in everything we do.
To reinforce this mission, we are looking for a Senior Engineer of Critical Infrastructures, focused on energy systems, HVAC, and active security, with a strong focus on analytics, advanced control, and automation.

- Ensure that the physical infrastructures supporting NOS's critical services (energy, cooling, and security) operate with maximum availability, efficiency, and safety, leveraging advanced monitoring, data, and automation.
- Energy and HVAC engineering
- Active security systems
- Smart exploration and advanced control
- Monitoring, performance, and capacity
- Sourcing and supplier management

Who we are looking for
- Higher education in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Mechanics, Electromechanics, or equivalent.
- Solid professional experience (typically ≥ 7–8 years) in energy systems (400V AC, -48V DC, UPS, generator sets, rectifiers, batteries);
- Experience in critical infrastructures (data centers, telecommunications, hospitals, industry, or similar) is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of standards and best practices for data centers and technical rooms (e.g., TIER, ASHRAE, applicable EN/IEC standards) will be valued.
- Experience with DCIM – Data Center Infrastructure Management platforms (e.g., iTracks or similar).
- Familiarity with BMS/SCADA solutions for monitoring and controlling energy and climate systems.
- Ability to use simulation and sizing tools (load calculations, thermal modeling, electrical calculations).
- Good skills in productivity and collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, project management tools, documentation on collaborative platforms).
- Strong interest in the digitalization of processes, automation of reports, and KPIs dashboards.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root causes and structured solutions.
What we have to offer you
