Job Title: Security Operations Engineer

Location: Lisbon or Aveiro, Portugal

Work Regime: Full-time & Hybrid (3x office days)

Overview / Summary:

We are looking for a Security Engineer that will work closely with security, software engineering, and DevOps teams, promoting secure development practices, incident response, and continuous improvement of the organization’s security posture.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Proactively identify, assess, and remediate security issues across cloud and on-premises environments.

- Collaborate with security, software engineering, and DevOps teams to implement secure coding practices, address vulnerabilities, and enhance security posture.

- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents.

- Perform threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and incident response activities, recommending actionable improvements.

- Promote the adoption of DevSecOps by integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines.

- Lead vulnerability remediation and best practices adoption within technical teams.

- Continuously evaluate, test, and optimize security tools and processes.

- Stay current on security trends, vulnerabilities, regulatory requirements, and new security tools to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

- 3+ years of experience in IT Security, ideally within cloud, software, or consulting environments.

- Hands-on experience with cloud security tools and/or SIEM solutions.

- Familiarity with application security and vulnerability management concepts and tools.

- Experience integrating security controls in CI/CD pipelines.

- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), with a focus on identity, access management, and container security.

- Skills in scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

- Problem-solving mindset and a collaborative, proactive approach.

- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
