We are looking for a Hot and Cold Forging Engineer to join a project for one of our clients in the automotive and defense sector.

Responsibilities and Tasks of the Role

  • Ability to conduct product tests and analyze failures.
  • Able to determine the product's feasibility.
  • Analyzes engineering drafts, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and layout of parts.
  • Interacts with production and sales to ensure that product goals and production capacity are met.
  • Designs the overall machining scheme and calculates angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, levers, and the location of features.
  • Calculates the magnitude, direction, and point of application of the forces of tension, compression, and bending, and develops the geometric shape of pieces to accommodate operational loads.
  • Produces detailed drawings of various views of parts and subassemblies, including specifications for transmission ratios, bearing loads, and the direction and interaction of moving parts.
  • Modifies the design of parts to correct functional deficiencies or to reduce production issues.
  • Measures the machine and parts before production begins to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Uses computer-aided design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead meetings and project reviews.
  • Ability to conceive and detail manufacturing drawings from concept to finished products.
  • Ability to work with suppliers to resolve production issues or in the development of new products.
  • Ability to communicate and assist clients, engineers, and external sales representatives regarding technical issues or new product development.
  • Ability to make presentations to internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Higher Education in Mechanical Engineering (preferred, but not essential if the candidate demonstrates high experience and technical knowledge in the relevant area).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years, with proven experience in Hot and Cold Forging processes in industries producing technical parts, preferably for the automotive industry.
  • Languages: Portuguese (preferred), otherwise English.
  • Tech Stack: Knowledge in Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion, QForm simulation, or similar.
