About Responsibilities

You will join the CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) unit of over 100 professionals in Portugal, contributing to large‑scale data platforms that power sustainable finance, regulatory reporting, and digital innovation.

Your mission is to design, optimize, and operate Teradata‑centric data workflows in a UNIX environment, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance across the bank’s critical data assets.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop and optimize Teradata SQL for high‑volume data processing, including performance tuning (AMPs, spool, PI/NoPI strategies, statistics, join efficiency).
• Manage Teradata data warehousing operations: table design, indexing strategies, workload management, and query troubleshooting.
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Ab Initio, integrating tightly with Teradata for ingestion, transformation, and data quality enforcement.
• Orchestrate batch processes with CONTROL‑M, ensuring reliable execution of Teradata‑dependent workflows.
• Operate in UNIX environments: directory structures, file management, shell scripting, and data movement patterns supporting Teradata loads.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance across Teradata environments, integrating with enterprise metadata tools (MEGA, Zeenea).
• Use Git, Jira, and Confluence to manage code, documentation, and delivery workflows in an industrialized banking context.

About You

• Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ideally with strong exposure to Teradata
• Experience in the banking domain is a strong plus
• Strong sense of service, autonomy, and ownership
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in structured, regulated environments with high expectations for data quality and traceability
