A Portuguese company is hiring a Data Engineer to join its Digital Transformation team, supporting strategic data and integration initiatives aligned with a global roadmap.

This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for a senior professional who can combine technical excellence, architectural ownership, and people leadership, driving complex data projects end-to-end.

🔥 About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Integration Services, capable of leading architecture decisions and mentoring teams while delivering scalable and secure integration and data platforms.

You will play a central role in shaping how the organization designs and delivers data products for internal stakeholders and external business use cases.

This is not a role for a tool-dependent profile. We are looking for someone with strong technical autonomy and professional integrity.

🏗️ Architecture & Data Product Strategy

• Design complex and scalable architectures across cloud and data ecosystems
• Define end-to-end solutions for data platforms and integration services
• Drive the design and implementation of data products for internal and external consumers
• Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives, compliance, scalability, and security

🔄 End-to-End Data Project Delivery

• Lead full lifecycle projects from: business alignment, requirement discovery, roadmap definition, architecture design, implementation, deployment and adoption
• Ensure delivery consistency across teams, environments, and stakeholders

⚙️ Technical Implementation & Integration

Design, develop, and maintain integrations using:

• Azure Logic Apps
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure API Management
• Azure Service Bus
• Event Grid
• Azure Functions

Support interface development and API implementation using:

• REST / SOAP APIs
• .NET / C#
• SOA and microservices architecture

🎓 Academic Background

• Degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent engineering background

🧩 Core Technical Expertise

• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Proven experience with Databricks
• Proven experience with Snowflake
• Strong experience designing and delivering Data Products for internal and/or external clients

☁️ Azure Integration Expertise

• Strong experience with Azure Integration Services
• Experience in API development and integration design
• Strong understanding of modern cloud architecture principles

👥 Leadership & People Management

• Evidence of experience as a technical leader / mentor
• Ability to define and defend complex architectures
• Experience managing teams, guiding engineers, and supporting performance and delivery

🚀 End-to-End Delivery Ownership

• Proven ability to lead data projects end-to-end
• Strong capability to align delivery with business objectives and define technical roadmaps

⚠️ Autonomy & Integrity Requirement

• Candidates must demonstrate technical autonomy and strong professional rigor
• Profiles dependent on AI tools to execute core responsibilities will not be considered

⭐ Nice to Have

• SAP BW background
• Experience in global transformation programs
• Strong documentation skills (architecture diagrams, specifications, governance)
