Senior ServiceNow CMDB System Administrator – ITSM & Configuration

Lisbon-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 2 days remote).

As a Senior ServiceNow CMDB System Administrator, you will be working for our client, a leading player in digital infrastructure and ITSM solutions. You will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing ServiceNow’s CMDB module, ensuring system health, performance, and continuous improvement—driving efficiency and transforming IT operations.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the health of the CMDB modules, ensuring accuracy and consistency of Configuration Items (CIs) and related data.
  • Review and refine existing configurations, including attributes, workflows, groups, and teams, to enhance system performance.
  • Prepare and adapt the CMDB groundwork to support the effective implementation of ITSM within ServiceNow.
  • Lead initiatives to improve business processes, manage ongoing improvement projects, and propose automation solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and oversee upgrades or changes to the ServiceNow instance.
  • Manage permissions, access rights, and roles to ensure security and compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal instance performance through regular health checks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day system issues, implementing permanent solutions where possible.
  • Deploy updates and automate notifications, reports, and data imports to streamline operations.
  • Provide process training and support to business owners and system users.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience working with ServiceNow, specifically in CMDB management and ITSM workflows.
  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow configuration, administration, and development.
  • Practical knowledge of scripting languages such as JavaScript, HTML, XML, and familiarity with Web Services REST, API, and SOAP.
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow best practices aligned with ITIL standards.
  • Fluent command of English (B2-C1 level).

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

  • ServiceNow CSA – Certified System Administrator.
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB Fundamentals, ITOM, Discovery, and Service Mapping certifications.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure management and ITOM solutions.
