Junior QA Engineer – Software Testing and Automation

Location and Work Model: opportunity in Lisbon with a hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).
Overview: As a Junior QA Engineer, you will join a dynamic project team based in Lisbon, supporting our client in the Commercial Finance domain. You will contribute to the validation of deliverables in agile sprints and help build and maintain a non-regressive test automation framework based on Playwright. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in software testing, automation, and the financial services sector, working closely with senior QA professionals and business analysts.
Your main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior team members to validate features delivered in each sprint.
- Contribute to the design, execution, and maintenance of manual and automated test cases.
- Help build and expand our non-regressive testing factory using Playwright.
- Track and report defects using tools like Jira, ensuring clear and detailed documentation.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies, participating in planning sessions, daily meetings, and reviews.
- Develop a deeper understanding of web applications, APIs, and the Commercial Finance domain.
You are the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- More than 1 year of experience or strong interest in software testing, QA, or related IT roles.
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum.
- Familiarity with manual testing concepts — test cases, regression testing, defect reporting.
- Interest or early experience with test automation tools, ideally Playwright (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of web browsers, forms, and basic API concepts.
- Good communication skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English (fluent proficiency).
It is a great advantage if you have:
- Experience in financial services or the Commercial Finance sector.
- Knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence.
- Experience with web automation frameworks like Selenium or Cypress.
- Relevant certifications in QA or test automation.
Language required for the position:
English — fluent proficiency.
