ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a hybrid delivery context in Lisbon, supporting data platform initiatives in the financial services sector. The role focuses on building scalable cloud-based data pipelines, enabling reliable data utilization and supporting data-driven decision making across technical and business teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, develop and maintain end-to-end ELT and ETL data pipelines for ingestion, processing and storage of large data volumes from multiple sources.
  • Build and optimize data models, schemas, data lakes and data warehouse components on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop Python-based transformations, automation tasks, orchestration workflows and data quality controls.
  • Support the integration, deployment and operationalization of AI prediction models within cloud data pipelines.
  • Plan and execute testing activities, including UAT, QA testing, data validation and release readiness checks.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts and business stakeholders in French and English.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and data quality practices to support reliability and operational continuity.
  • Ensure data governance, security, privacy and compliance requirements are considered across data solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, runbooks and test plans.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities and Agile or Scrum ceremonies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 6 to 9 years of professional experience in data engineering, with advanced autonomy in complex delivery contexts.
  • Strong Python development experience, including testing, packaging, performance considerations and clean code practices.
  • Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native data engineering patterns.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes or data warehouses.
  • Practical experience or solid understanding of AI prediction models, data preparation for machine learning, feature engineering and MLOps principles.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and advanced French proficiency, minimum C1, for technical collaboration with French-speaking teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Clear documentation habits and ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 20 000 - EUR 40 000 gross/year

Total compensation: up to EUR 55 000/year

The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
